Amazon Smile Program

A really fast, easy way to support the RSOL is to use the AmazonSmile program, and it does not cost you anything!  AmazonSmile is a website operated by Amazon with the same products, prices, and shipping features as  The feature we love:  a percentage of the purchase price of the items you buy is donated to the charity of your choice.  All you have to do is designate the Richmond Symphony Orchestra League as the charity of your choice and shop at AmazonSmile.  Every quarter, Amazon sends the proceeds to the RSOL.  So when you shop at Amazon, be sure to use the AmazonSmile website.

Here's the very simple way to sign up:

1.  Click this link to AmazonSmile.
2.  Click on 'Pick your own charitable organization' towards the right of the page.
3.  Type:  Richmond Symphony Orchestra League.
4.  A pop-up will appear that identifies Richmond Symphony Orchestra League, Richmond Virginia.
5.  Shop as usual.
Each time you shop at AmazonSmile, the Richmond Symphony Orchestra League should pop up as your designated charity pick.

Thank you for supporting the Richmond Symphony Orchestra League through AmazonSmile!

RSOL Day at the Great Big Greenhouse

The RSL will be at The Great Big Greenhouse (2051 Huguenot Road, Richmond, VA 23235) on November 23, 2019 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. for a fundraiser and to promote the Richmond Symphony.  This is a very successful fundraiser that is conducted in conjunction with an open house that the Great Big Greenhouse hosts to kick off the holiday season each year.  There are many ways to participate in this event including preparing and donating cookies, cakes, and treats for the bake sale ahead of time, setting up and selling the baked goods at the event, helping with the musical instrument petting zoo, and showing up to support the fundraiser by shopping.  It is an enjoyable way to share what the RSL does to support the Richmond Symphony!

The Great Big Greenhouse generously donates a portion of the gross sales for that day to the RSL.

Designer House

The Richmond Symphony League Designer House is our signature fundraiser. Started in 1984, the RSL has sponsored the Designer House every other year to raise money for the Richmond Symphony. For each Designer House, the RSL selects a large host home for the event and then invites local designers to compete for the opportunity to decorate one of the 20 to 30 spaces inside and outside the home, donating their time and materials. The Designer House month-long events offer many volunteer opportunities.  The next Designer House is scheduled to take place in 2020 - stay tuned for details!

The March Opening at the Crossroads Art Center

The Crossroads Art Center's goals are to exhibit the work of emerging and established artists from the mid-Atlantic region and to offer instruction and education in the visual arts.  At the March opening, RSL provides wine, beer and other beverages, and the sale of these beverages is a fund raiser for our organization - all net proceeds benefit The Richmond Symphony.  The next event will be held on March 20, 2020 at the Crossroads Art Center, 2016 Staples Mill Road, Richmond, VA 23230.

Crossroads Art Center had a special themed exhibition entitled “The Art of Music” in 2019, and the League benefited from a portion of each sale.  This was an online and live exhibition showcasing music-inspired artwork in several mediums.

Champagne & Chocolates

The RSL members and their guests participate in our fun and festive fundraising social event, Champagne & Chocolates. These are mini-concerts presented four times a year by the RSL featuring Symphony ensembles and Concerto Competition winners in private home settings for between 30 to 100 guests. This is an opportunity to meet the musicians in a more informal manner. There is a small charge for the event which is a means of financial support for the Symphony.

Wine Dinner

The Richmond Symphony League periodically works with local restaurants to host wine dinners as fund raising opportunities to further our efforts to support the Richmond Symphony.  Restaurants that have hosted wine dinners for us include Tarrant's West, Max's on Broad, and Julep's New Southern Cuisine.  Many thanks to those restaurants who have partnered with us in the past.  Watch here for future opportunities to join us at one of these enjoyable evenings!
